Night openings at PSA terminals on right bank 869 / 913

Posted by Tim Wouters

We would like to inform you that PSA Antwerp is starting a pilot project for the night handling of trucks at their container terminals from Monday June 3, 2019, 06.00h. This extension of the handling times currently only applies to full containers.

Empty containers and containers with excess width will not be able to be delivered during the night shift.

Specifically, this concerns the Europa and Noordzee Terminal, located at quay 869 and quay 913.

As of June 3, 2019, trucks can be registered at these terminals from Monday morning 06.00h until Saturday morning 04.45h.

On public holidays that fall within this period, the truck registration will be suspended from 04.45h on the day of the public holiday until 06.00h the following day.

Please note that the TAMS kiosks will not be available during the night shift. Therefore, for the night handling, the TAR code must be created before arrival at the terminal, by 15.00h. at the latest.

Given that a number of services are not available at night, it is necessary that

  • all customs documents are submitted electronically in a timely manner;
  • IMDG labels are correctly applied where necessary and containers are sealed properly;
  • the driver has his own alfapass (with valid ADR reference if relevant).

For this service a fee of 2,34€ per handled container will be charged by PSA. In order to achieve an optimal spread, this fee will be settled in all shifts as from June 3, 2019, 06.00h.

After the trial period of 6 months, the project will be evaluated and based on the results, it will be decided whether and under which conditions the project will be definitively implemented. They trust that the introduction of this pilot project will meet the demand from the transport sector and hope that, together with us, it will make a positive contribution to a smoother traffic flow in and around the port of Antwerp.
